Skin Rejuvenation: What to Do When You Don’t Love Your Skin

We all have our skin imperfections—or at least what we view as imperfections. Not loving your skin—and your appearance as a result—can be a common issue here in hot, humid Florida. From sun spots to pigmented lesions to wrinkles to acne and everything in between, our body’s biggest organ can cause us a lot of worry or even embarrassment.

However, there are plenty of skin rejuvenation tips and tricks that can help you fall in love with your skin once again. And it all starts with…

Drink Water

Staying fully hydrated is extremely important for all parts of your body, but particularly your skin. Honestly, it is one of the best things you can do for your skin. Water helps protect your skin from damage and helps you flush out toxins while improving your skin’s firmness and texture.

Use Sun Protection

Applying sunscreen is particularly important if you live in Florida. The intenseness of Florida’s sun can quickly damage your skin, increase your risk of skin cancer, and prematurely age you. It is important to note that sunscreen is not just necessary at the beach or by the pool or even just on sunny days because UV rays can still pass through clouds. If you are going to be spending more than ten minutes outside, you should plan to apply a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and reapply as needed throughout the day.

Cleanse and Moisturize

Keeping your skin clean and moisturized on a consistent basis is important to the health of your skin in the future. It is important to use a mild cleanser on a daily basis to remove dead cells and/or dirt that builds up on your skin over time and clogs your pores. Once your skin is clean, applying a good moisturizer that fits your skin type will help your skin stay hydrated.
